If there is only one person running for a position, ¾ of the board members who are present at the time will need to vote for that person in order to be elected or appointed. If there is more than one candidate running for a position, the person with the majority of the votes will be elected.
To be elected president, vice president, treasurer, and secretary, the person must have been a member for at least two terms (unless there are extraneous circumstances… then the board will be permitted to consider other people for these positions but temporarily)

The board will conduct a hearing from delegating person(s) from that chapter in order to admit or reject the suggestion. Rejection will be based on AFTER’s financial capability, and also whether or not another suggested region is in greater need of AFTER’s presence.
VOLUNTEER:

My commitment is about "Poverty alleviation in Haiti" using my artworks. I intend on finding any way possible to make money using art, which in turn will be used to help young haitian kids to attend classical and profession/vocational school. Some of the ways that we intend on raising money will be through donations, selling artworks (My artworks as well as young haitian artists' artworks) etc.
Some of the specifics: I look forward to starting this project with young artists in Haiti. I will be conducting art contests, which will allow them to earn prizes for their works, scholarships to attend school (professional or classical school), and stipends so they can have money in their pockets for daily use. The paintings chosen from the contests are then going to be available for sale through "Jean's Beautiful Haitian Paintings" (looking forward to changing the name in the near future to have it reflect this project better). The money from selling the paintings, in turn, is going to be used towards those young artists and other young haitians who are in need (It is going to be a cycle, but the money made is always going to be used in doing anything that helps young Haitians). We are looking forward to partnering with anyone having commitment to any underserved or underprivileged people of any country, Haiti is just where I start because I am Haitian, but my concern for "Poverty Alleviation" is global. I look forward to working with anyone and everyone. For those who have any type of commitment to Haiti, I look forward to working with you as well because "Jean's Beautiful Haitian Paintings" could be the engine of any commitment working to alleviate poverty. Jean's Beautiful Paintings is looking forward to working with every organization from medical to potable water etc... like previously said, as long as the commitment is poverty alleviation there is a way to work together.
Current Involvement:
1) Currently, "Jean's Beautiful Haitian Paintings" is responsible for a little school in the outskirt of Haiti in Petite Riviere de l'Artibonite. That school provide free education (K through 8th grade), and those who are able to pay are charged a small fee to help balance the expenses. We are looking forward to building a better building (currently the school meets under a building made with weaved palm or coconut tree leaves), and we are also looking forward to expand the school from 8th grade to include high school... and then I would love to start a professional career school for those kids so they don't just sit and do nothing after completing High School.
2) I currently am in a group of professionals who are looking forward to starting a bachelor degree in Physical Therapy in Haiti, that will help create therapists to help the Haitian people because there is barely anyone practicing such a needed profession in Haiti... and there is currently no school providing Physical Therapy education.
3) "Jean's Beautiful Haitian Paintings" is so proud to announce that two of the kids (Two Brothers) that we have been helping for many years now are doing really well and are close to being able to start giving back. One of them is in his second year in university now, he is studying economics and accounting, and the other one is currently a junior in High School and is aspired to go to medical school to become an MD. They are both so into music! They both sing and play instruments (Piano and Guitar). In fact, they also make beat for their music and sell beat to friends. Just this past year, I got them tools necessary to build a little home studio, which they use to record their musics, but also record for other young people for a small fee. This is the pure example of "teach a man how to fish rather than feeding him". Although they don't make enough to pay for their education (I still take care of that for them), they are able to make some money to help with some of their daily needs. Thank God for such a great testimony... they are partly the reason why I have enormous drive to continue to follow my heart, my God's given purpose of life... HELP OTHERS!
Last time I went to Haiti, I recorded a little video of one singing using my iPhone, I edited it and posted it on youtube for him, which can be seen by searching his name (John Salem Saul). I also used pictures to make a slide show video with the other brother's music and that also is on youtube under the name of John Samy Saul.
Like previously stated, we look forward to working with anyone, any commitment, or any project, or just simply anyone who likes our idea and would love to partner with us... because these two Haitians Saying: "Men Anpil Chay Pa Lou", "Yon Sel Dwet Pa Manje Kalalou" are the only way that we are going to get anything done!
